How To Reclaim Your Self Love

Whether you are single or in a relationship, maybe you’ve had this empty unfulfilled feeling for decades. Looking at yourself in the mirror and saying the words, I love you, is not happening…yet.  It feels uncomfortable.

I see it all the time with my clients.

If you didn’t receive a certain form of love growing up that YOU needed either in words, attention or physical touch then you might think you aren’t worthy of love.

This creates overgiving or people pleasing behaviors because you are trying to get love any way you can which is most likely unconscious.

I’M TELLING YOU…ACTUALLY SCREAMING IT TO YOU…YOU CAN LOVE YOURSELF ALL ON YOUR OWN AND FILL THE GAP WHERE YOUR PARENTS DIDN’T.

Here‘s a few things you can do now to love yourself more.

Give yourself a hug (or tap if you know how) and say, ‘even though you didn’t receive love as a child you are worthy of it.’

And, say, ‘It’s ok body I’ve got you and I love you.’

Try the mirror exercise next where you look yourself in the eyes and say, ‘I love you’

Then graduate to saying it in front of the mirror naked.

Journal as you take yourself through this process and be ok with how challenging it might be. Keep saying it until you embody it.  Be patient & compassionate towards yourself. Growth takes practice, time & consistency❤️
