4 EFT Tapping Tips

For those of you who don’t know, I  am an Accredited Certified EFT practitioner and it has saved my life and I am blessed to be able to use it in my coaching practice.

I have some tapping tips that I want to share with you.

Tip 1: When you are feeling really intense about something and you want to use tapping here’s a couple of things to know:

Rate the intensity of your issue from a 0-10. And if you are above a 7 just tap on the basic recipe points and breathe.

Here are the points for you:

  • Side of hand

  • Top of head

  • Inner eye

  • Outer eye

  • Under the eye

  • Under the nose

  • On the chin

  • Under the collar bone

  • Under the arm

You want to tap and take a deep focused breath on each point. Then you can add words once you're a 7 or below as you tap along. For example, Even though I feel ________ I’m choosing to honor how I feel.

Tip 2: Conversational type tapping can be good to get a bigger or better picture of how your issue is affecting you. And, it will only give you temporary results unless you use other techniques that help you focus on each specific part of your issue.. So, be careful because you could be circling around an issue forever. In order to get permanent healing, you need to be laser focused on your specific feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations, memories etc. about whatever your issue is. For example, feeling anxious has ALOT wrapped up in it. Fear, palpitations, worry, doubt, second guessing, grief, sadness, tension, nausea, and/or heaviness. So pick the most intense word that is YOUR truth and tap on that until you feel better. Then, go to the next word and so….

Tip 3: I’ll call it Transition tapping!

You can tap to regulate your nervous system all day before and after situations.

  • Before a difficult conversation.

  • Before a business meeting.

  • Before starting work.

This helps you stay calm, grounded and more comfortable to speak and sets you up for clearer communication.

Or

  • After a difficult conversation.

  • After giving a presentation.

  • After work and before going home.

This helps you process emotions safely and thoroughly while loving yourself in the process which promotes emotional clearing & healing.

Tip 4: I’ve come across many who don’t like fast tapping because it makes them feel worse.

So you can absolutely do slower tapping or gently rub or press on the points too.  It really is the intention behind the tap.

I’ve worked with cancer patients who don’t want to tap on certain points and just putting your fingers on it with the intention of tapping is just as good.  I can tap surrogately for others virtually or without a live connection altogether.  It truly is an amazing tool.

Happy tapping ❤️
